To capture
the recruiter's interest and make your CV easier to read, pay attention to the
presentation of your CV and be as clear
as possible.
Follow
these basic rules:
-
Well spaced out and coherent style
-
Titles and sub-titles show
graphical hierarchy
-
Clearly identified headings:
underlines, frames, capitals, etc.
-
Maximum of 3 pages
-
Minimum 2-cm margins
-
Font: 10-point font size – Arial
and Tahoma are the most often used
CV formulation:
Be clear
and concise. Get straight to the point, and cut out useless words. Use short
sentences or phrases.
A few
tips:
- Add a title to your CV, such as "Junior Business Analyst,"
"Certified Business Analyst," or "Business Systems
Analyst."
- Use bullet lists instead of
complete sentences: "Developed requirements specifications" instead
of "I developed requirements specifications."
- Stick to one idea per
sentence.
- Use action words:
- Coordinate, evaluate, support,
act, transpose, transmit
- Validate, develop, implement, set
up
- Use technical terms:
"data mapping," "business intelligence tools,"
"detailed functional specifications," "object-oriented
modelling," etc.
- Clearly identify dates. Never specify days, while months
are only relevant for experiences of short duration.
- Avoid unnecessary details:
unrelated job experience, languages you are not fluent in, irrelevant software,
student work experience if you already have business analysis experience, etc.
